Town Board Meeting November 24, 2008

The Town Board met on Monday, November 24, 2008 at 7:30 pm. All members were present.

During his Supervisor’s Update, Peter Dolan announced that new lights have been strung on the trees in the Train Station Parking lot. They will be lit on Friday, November 28th. He also reported that School Superintendent Zanetti has informed him that the school buildings will be closed on Fridays during the summer months. This will mean some rearranging of the schedule for the Town Recreation Program and led to a discussion about the program. The Town is considering extending the program to six weeks instead of the present five and there were varying opinions on what the resulting fee changes should be. The discussion will be ongoing with a decision to be made in the next couple of months.

A resolution was passed to authorize a continuing agreement with the Warwick Valley Humane Society. The fees for both dogs and cats have risen.

The Board wants to remind all residents that this year’s Holiday Celebration and Town Tree Lighting will take place at the Train Station and not the High School.

There was a discussion about the possibility of taking possession of Juniper Lane. It was decided to consult with the attorney, who was not present, and then make a decision at the next regular meeting.
