The Town Board met on November 26th at 7:30 pm for what was surely the shortest meeting of the year.
Supervisor Peter Dolan started the meeting with a moment of silence for Tony Tripoli, former Village DPW Superintendent, who passed away on Thursday, November 22.
In his Supervisor’s update, Dolan stated that the Police
Contract has been negotiated and details submitted to the Town Board for review. The contract will be voted on the December 10, 2007 Town Board meeting.
In addition, Dolan reported that all Town Employees will have direct deposit for their paychecks commencing on January 1, 2008.
The Board awarded the garbage contract to the current hauler, Marangi. This contract is valid for another 2 years with an option to renew for an additional 2 years.
The Board has agreed to increase towing fees in town to $100. In a related resolution, they are also increasing the Towing Application fee for the tow operators from $50 to $1500. There was some discussion as to whether or not the operators would pay this amount and it was decided they would as the Supervisor has had discussions with some of them.
Due to the election of Gary Phelps and Tom Darling to the Town Board, there will be openings on both the Planning Board and Zoning Board. The Town Board resolved to post these positions as soon as possible with the hope that they can be filled in January.
The final business of the night was the approval of a sign advertising rental space available in Sterling Mine Court. The sign will be allowed through March, 2008.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:05.
